| What is Obstructive Sleep Apnea
(OSA)? People who have OSA stop breathing repeatedly during
sleep because the airway collapses.
OSA can occur due to a large tongue, extra tissue in
the airway or decreased muscle tone. Air cannot get
into the lungs; therefore, the oxygen level
decreases throughout the body.
OSA affects men, women and children of all ages and
all sizes.
